As part of our community, social and recreational activities and supports IDV offers all of their participants, throughout all services, the opportunity to take part in a variety of camps that are held both within Victoria and interstate.
The largest of our camps is offered every 2 years, which involves a 12-day adventure camp to QLD. In recent years, campers have enjoyed activities such as; Movie World, Sea World, Wet 'n' Wild, Outback Spectacular, Surfers Paradise, Currumbin Sanctuary and many more.
On the alternate year to QLD, we also offer local camps which have previously been based at both Tootgarook and Mt. Martha, which run for approximately 2-5 days.
Our camps are inclusive of most costs, excluding staff supports (this should be included as part of your NDIS Plan), and provide a staffing ratio of approx. 1:4, ensuring individual needs and requests can be addressed and met. The cost of the camps includes all transport (airfare and buses), accommodation, catering, activities and excursions. The only additional expense is for personal souvenirs/spending.
Please note that there is a selection criteria for participants to meet in order to establish their suitability for certain camps. This can be made available upon request, or alternatively, is outlined within the initial Expression of Interest form for each camp held.
