Date: 30 March, 2020
Dear IDV Community Members,
I am writing to you with regards to the Australian National Government’s announcement on further restrictions of population movements and congregating, as part of the national response to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The measures introduced included:
In light of these further restrictions IDV has reviewed its current operations within its Day Services – The ATSS and Step by Step Programs – and its Aurora Supported Employment business.
The health and wellbeing of our participants, staff, families and carers has and always will remain IDV’s top priority.
Considering the new restrictions, the way these programs currently operate, and in order to minimize any possible risk of spreading infection during this time, IDV has taken the decision to close the affected services until further notice.
This will mean that the following services will be closed effective from 3pm Monday 30th March 2020:
IDV’s existing Residential and Out of Hours services will remain open during this period.
It is with a heavy heart that we have had to make this decision and we understand that this could cause concern within our community, however our primary concern is to ensure the health and safety of both our Participants and the wider community. As I am writing this communication, I can assure you that IDV has had no confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The status of the temporary closure will be kept under constant review, and we will be informed by all Government advice and guidelines issued. Within that we intend to re-open our programs as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
In this regard we will maintain communication with you all, and will provide regular and ongoing updates on the situation as a whole, and the status of our programs.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this closure may cause.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact myself, or the relevant IDV Program manager
