IDV Service Delivery Update with Eased Restrictions

Dear Service Users, Families and Carers

I wanted to take the time and thank all the participants and family members; it has been a difficult and challenging year with COVID and tough restrictions that have been imposed on us all. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we now work towards a COVID normal environment.

With the recent announcements from the Victorian Government and updates to the DHHS Disability Sector Plan, Care Facilities Directions and Workplace Directions IDV can confirm the following changes taking place.

Supported Independent Living:

  • 2 Family members from the same household can visit together
  • Visits to the residential house can be prescheduled for up to three occasions per week with a maximum duration of 2 hours for each visit
  • Support our residents to access the community working with in current guidelines
  • Alternatively, you can now take your family member home for a visit or overnight stay
  • All requests need to be prescheduled to ensure we maintain density requirements and social distancing during any pickup/drop off times

Day Service:

  • Day Service is currently still considered restricted with limitations on participants onsite, in program rooms and accessing transport services
  • At this point in time IDV will continue with the limited number of participants on site through to the end of December 2020
  • Day Services resumes on the 18th of January 2021 – your coordinator/Manager will be in contact before the end of the year to confirm if services can resume for all participants and may require a staggered start for 2021

Supported Employment:

  • Aurora will continue with the limited number of staff on site through to the end of the year
  • Your Manager will be in contact before the end of the year to confirm a staggered return across January and February 2021 working with in revised guidelines

Support Services:

  • All service requests can continue under current guidelines
  • Holiday to Bendigo in January 2021 will continue as planned – if there are any changes to current guidelines, we will keep you updated

All Services across IDV are required to follow the current guidelines in place:

  • Comply with the four-square meter density requirements that limit the number of people that can be in a shared communal space at one time.
  • Physical distancing of 1.5 meters
  • Gathering limits
  • Limits on the number of individuals for specific activities

To ensure we can maintain a high standard of service delivery the following will remain in place:

  • Staff will continue to wear a surgical face mask through the working day
  • All visitors to any site will need to wear a face mask
  • Participants are encouraged to wear a face mask unless there is a lawful reason not to
  • Daily contact tracing details will be maintained
  • Daily screening will continue
  • Cleaning high touch surfaces will continue

We understand this has been a challenging time for our community, if you have any questions or concerns, please speak with the IDV Service Manager at any time and we will keep you updated with any changes to current guidelines.

Kind Regard
